Mint.com has released a free app for Android. With this app Android users will be able to access their mint.com account and can view real-time account balances, check recent transactions, compare monthly spending budgets, edit transaction details and more.

Android makes search a snap features allows you to get Mint transactions right in your phone’s search results. You can also keep a folder of recent transactions on the home screen and get a financial snapshot with the Mint widget.

Most importantly Mint.com’s android app is password protected. So if you happen to lose your phone, no one will be able to see  how much you make… or what you spent on those limited edition Star Wars dolls.

Mint.com’s  for Android works on Android OS versions 1.5.1, 1.60 and 2.0.
