Samsung Corby Speed Touch Screen Launched on CDMA Platform

Samsung India Electronics has launched Corby Speed touch screen mobile handsets in Code division multiple access (CDMA) platform. Samsung India is planning to sell Corby Speed phones through two channels : First directly in open market and second through mobile service providers.

According to Hendrick Lee, Vice-President (Mobile Division), Samsung India Electronics

Corby Speed will give data speed up to 2.4 Mbps for hi-speed Internet surfing and downloads on the phone. Aimed at open market space, Corby Speed, company officials said, would support full service across all CDMA operators’ OMH SIM cards such as Tata Indicom, Reliance Mobile, MTS and Virgin Mobile. This would provide a mobile phone user the leeway to pick any operator of his/her choice at any point in time. “This provides one the flexibility of a GSM-based (global system for mobile communication) handset

Corby Speed natively supports popular social networking websites including Facebook, Flicker, Picasa, and MySpace.

CDMA Providers also offering a free internet connection with Samsung Corby Speed.

New postpaid subscribers of Reliance Mobile will get a 15 GB of data with 2 months validity with Samsung Corby Speed and new prepaid subscribers will get 10 GB data with 1 month validity.

Tata Indicom’s new and existing CDMA mobile subscriber who opt the Samsung Corby Speed will eligible to get FREE data usage of 10 GB with any plan with a validity of 2 months.

MTS India offers free data usage of 15 GB with 3 month validity (5 GB each month) with unlimited free access of Yahoo India, Wikipedia and MakeMyTrip travel website
