Preview version of the latest Windows Mobile OS, the Windows phone7  is released. Installed on Samsung Taylor phone, some developers impressed but some other are not. Now based on the previewer let’s compare WP 7 with iOS4 shall we?

- User Interface, WP7 uses new UI called Metro UI, some previewer from Engadget and ZdNet consider it to be nice flowing, snappy UI with the multi-touch ability provided as well. Not ground breakings feature though, since iPhone already had it for quite some time.

- Homescreen, WP 7 has new widgety things called tiles that contain many shortcut and widget that you can customize as you please, on other side iOS 4 has the homescreens icons for all apps and also customizable.

- Design Concept, previewer from ZdNet state that this phone focuses more on user friendly that provide user help to do things than sophisticated apps support. While the iPhone 4 is more application-oriented.

- Contacts details aggregation, WP 7 has already adopting WebOS contact sync with social network and email accounts, which is used in Palm phone. On the other hand, the iPhone missing out this feature.

- Browser, the Windows Phone 7 pre installed with native IE 7 which well- improved. The feature a lot similar to iPhone 4′s Safari browser. OS do not support Flash though, the WP7 brings Silverlight and the iPhone4 brings HTML5 support.

- Multi-tasking, Multitasking on the WP 7 tech-preview yet only able for 1st party apps and instead it apply tombstoning. The iOS 4 multi tasking support more app though for certain apps it also practicing tombstoning like process.

- Business tools/Emails, Both OS supports Exchange, IMAP and POP email accounts.

- Games, the Windows Phone 7 Support the popular Microsoft Xbox Live than can play games online. The iPhone have their Games Center that can go online as well.

- Entertainment, WP 7 is attached with Zune’s ability to download music, videos and TV shows. However this feature has not yet close to Apple’ iTunes in its collection.

- Apps, The Apple is well known for the largest online apps store, with good response from many developers. While the WP 7 is building its apps store, the Marketplace still need support from many source to develop it.

- Memory, The WP 7 internal will be as huge as the iPhone with few different internal memory size variant which the lowest is 8GB with no support of memory card slot expansion.

- Copy and Paste, Sadly the WP 7 missed out these feature where as it should be, since this device is the home for office tools. However not like the WP7, the iOS 4 support copy and paste.

- Tethering, Both phones support tethering to PC or laptop through USB or Bluetooth.

- Search Engine, WP 7 may search the web using Bing-centric platform, that can track anything including voice that is support by Telltime. On the other side the iOS 4 has the ability to search using various search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Many advantage and disadvantages found in the new Window Phone 7 platform, since it is not the full release we hope that it would be improved when it released in this November.
